    just felt naming each of them one by one was rather superfluous tex. Mine is easier. Only have to name one man. Clue he was not one of the Carry On Gang but was involved away from the camera..

      Had to do some research here and came up with Talbot rothwell, apparently he and Butterworth would entertain the prisoners together which had the added advantage of creating a diversion for attempted escapes!...Later a writer for several of the carry on films and also up pompei.

          Yep. Wrote all the later Carry Ons.
          I was not aware of the entertaining troops as a diversion part tho.. interesting.

                                Yes, it was Les Dawson, only the account I saw said James' face appeared and looked truly ghastly. The ghost or whatever it was is also supposed to have spoken to Dawson, but the comic would never disclose what was said.
