Tatkabout is a pop current affairs programme. It brings together a panel of under-20s, an expert or two, and the irrepressible Jonathan King to argue about various topical issues.
Famous voices from the world of pop add their views:
' I think the media can make you or destroy you and you remember what I'm saying.'
    (MUHAMMAD ALI)
' Most of the things I got into trouble for were abstract things, like looking as if I'd not had enough sleep.'
    (JOHN COOPER CLARKE )
The whole battle is refereed by Cindy Kent
    Producer SUZAN DAVIES
(If you'd like to be a panellist, drop a line to Talkabout, BBC, London [Postcode removed]. saying what your interests are.)

From Monday to Thursday JOHN PEEL brings you rock music with the accent on the new and the unusual. The show is a mixture of records and sessionsspeciallyrecorded for the BBC. Folk, reggae and rock classics rub shoulders with the latest manifestations from the new wave of punk. For more than ten years the programme has acted as a showcase for the newest British rock talent and many stars appeared oh the show as unknowns before they had made their first commercial recordings.

Freddie Williams and the LONDON THEATRE ORCHESTRA leader REGINALD LEOPOLD conducted by ALEXANDER FARIS 1930 and 1950 The end of the airships and the end of rationing. In 1930 the R101 disaster at Beauvais halted all air-ship developments in Britain: and in 1950 milk, petrol, soap and many foods became unrestricted for the first time since the war. In 1930 Amy Johnson flew to Australia and the Australian batsman Don Bradman made his first visit to England. In 1950 the West Indies won the test series against England and the Coronation Stone was stolen from Westminster Abbey. 1930 was the year of Private Lives, starring the author, Noel Coward , and Gertrude Lawrence. In 1950 Carousel packed them in at Drury Lane.
