ANDY PEEBLES , Manchester City "aficionado, writes: 1 The programme this week features a session by that most remarkable of vocalists. Roger Chapman ; remarkable it would seem because there have always been twp schools, of thought as to bis vocal ability. The- ' Larry-the-. Lamb ' brigade have for some- years hurled abuse at" Mr Chapman 's vocal gymnastics but anybody with any musical integrity must surely recog- - nise that Roger is one of the best rock singers this country has ever produced. His new band is an extremely accomplished outfit and if there was to be a return for a British rock hero irf 1979 then I am delighted that it is Roger Chapman (even if he does support Leicester City!).'

First to Lost: the Peter Frampton Hit File
First achieving public attention in the 60s group, The Herd. where he was probably most noticed for his baby-faced good looks, it was sheer guitar-playing ability which eventually established Peter Frampton as an impressive rock performer. Although his talent was to some extent realised in Humble Pie - a band whose line-up included Steve Marriott , formerly of the Small Faces - it was not until Frampton elected to go solo that his career flourished. With his hugely successful album, 'Frampton Comes Alive', which provided three hit singles Peter Frampton stormed his way into the US charts.
Today and each day this week you can hear a Frampton chart success.

The last in the present series of this pop current affairs programme brings together, as usual, a celebrity, an ' expert ' or two and a panel of under-20s to argue out a topical issue, under the watchful eye of Cindy Kent.
Talkabout has covered a wide range of topics: marriage and living together; the paranormal; the power of the media; New Wave music: sport for all; broadcasting and young people: sex without shame; religion as an influence for good or evil; the thrill of speed; the Top 40; drink and drugs; becoming a rock star and why politics is boring.
