    I believe he had been performing until a few weeks prior to his death.

    I think the show I saw live did run late. You certainly got your money's worth when you went to see Ken Dodd, and his act was packed with young kids to grannies, and they all laughed just as much.

    Very sad news, my parents saw him a few years ago & he was performing for 3 years well into his 80s.

    Before Ken Dodd, only people in Liverpool would have heard of Knotty Ash, but he helped to put the place on the map, and made it just as famous as he was.

    He was a regular at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, playing one night at least once a year - in fact, I am certain that he did his first professional night in Nottingham as well.
