    Default Gree4n Sheild Stamps

Green Shield Stamps were given on purchases, similar to supermarket points cards nowadays

You saved the books full of Green Shield Stamps to purchase things from their catalogue

Cheaper items; less books of stamps; more expensive stuff; more books of stamps

Things available were things like kettles, toasters & lots of other stuff

Who knows what was the most expensive thing you could by with green Shield Stamps?

A brand spanking new Ford Escort

    Yes really

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

I've heard of cars being offered through trading stamps & even cigarette coupons.

Of course offering a car (or similar expensive items) encourages punters to buy more things to get more stamps

I wonder how many people actually went for the car
