I believe that Chris Kelly was a continuity announcer for Anglia in his early days, and so Anglia viewers were very familiar to his presence on ITV screens in the East.

Schools programmes ended for the summer possibly at the end of June. Remember that the school terms in Scotland broke up a lot earlier than south of the border (I think that are off now for this year), and so I assume that they ended earlier for their benefit. I know that the autumn term ended before Christmas with the first Friday in December if it fell on the first couple of days of that month.

Yes, and he did Wish You Here for Thames, and Friday Live (think of Victor Lewis-Smith as Batman) for Tyne Tees.

            I didn’t know that. Thanks!

Summer holiday viewing for me in 1977would not have been complete without Elvis and Cliff films in the mornings. I came back from Australia in October 76, and remember being hooked on Elvis after watching his films that summer. I was a devastated 8 year old when he died that August.
