  • Concentrated orange juice

In the 1990s it was possible to buy concentrated pure orange juice in cartons and, if you looked hard enough, food tins, that was mixed 1:3 with water before drinking. Do they still exist today?

Are you talking about the stuff that needed to be diluted before drinking? Always brought on picnics etc.

I always think of Robinson's Barley Water (and a lot of the Robinson's brand to be honest) as well as Quosh as being that sort of thing.

If you look on a carton of pure orange juice it often states that it is made with concentrated orange juice. It's this concentrated orange juice that I'm referring to in the OP.

I think it was more popular with restaurants and hotels than home users. It's still readily available in the US although sales have declined in recent years.

Have recollections of this being sold in tins as well.

I usually buy the bottled stuff which I believe is a lot different.

You used to be able to get frozen tins of orange juice concentrate. They had a ring pull lid and were very difficult to empty out until they started to de-frost.

A warehouse we used to use, stored 220kg drums of fruit juice concentrate for one of the big drinks producers locally.
