      Re: The Dooleys

My Dad was friends with The Dooleys in the late 70's when they lived in Manchester, as he was a well known cabaret pop artist in the nightclub scene back then. He took me and the family to meet them just as they were launching the single "Think I'm Gonna Fall In Love With You". They were really nice people, Jim Dooley was quite a shy person. Outside of the UK, they had a big hit in Australia with "Wanted" and "Chosen Few".

I read somewhere The Dooleys were originally from Essex but relocated to Worsley near Manchester because earlier in their career they found there were more suitable live venues in the North. This was after Manchester born bass player Bob Walsh suggested they should play the pubs & clubs in the North.
