  • Love is the Drug: 70s discos and perfume

Trying to remember the name of a very strong female perfume all the rage in the mid 70s! Can’t explain a scent, but I think this may have been Pachouli? Lots of hippie connotations etc, but lots of girls at our school, teenagers wore it, and it reminds me of school discos, mixed up with all the Faberge Brut etc

Patchouli was often worn by geezers but usually on clothes, a familiar smell in the concert halls amongst metalheads

Sweat and perfume at a disco just did not mix. Was better when the music quietened and you clung close to your girl while the glittering ball sprouted rainbow colors around the dance floor. Or the squares on the floor changed colors as you moved to the music.
