  • RIP Peter Benson

Sad news that Peter Benson who played Bernie Scripps in the popular 1960s set series Heartbeat died on Thursday aged 75 after a short illness. I loved watching Heartbeat on a Sunday night. A show in it's heyday pulled in 14 million viewers.

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Heartbeat is still seen on ITV 3 and so therefore he will still be seen in many of those episodes.

Was Benson the only actor to appear in all of the series, or did the late Bill Maynard and others also appeared in all of them as well?
