Re: One of my christmas presents

I have never heard of Lesney, and I had quite a few Matchbox cars when I was younger - I used to have toys that were older than I was, so the chances are that I would have been familiar with them.
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
    I'm having so much fun
    My lucky number's one
    Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!

On the other hand, Lesney could have been the American name for them.

Lesney was a combination of the names of its founders, Leslie Smith and Rodney Smith (no relation).

Ah ... my old neighbour's daughter bought him one to kinda keep him company after his wife passed away .. funny thing is it's supposed to make things easier but he can't remember what 'she's' called so his daughter wrote her name in his telephone book ... which is kept in the other room near the phone

Sooooo when he wants to ask her something he has to get up off the sofa and walk to the phone book to see what she's called

The other funny thing is ( apart from him cursing her all the time for mid -hearing him .... is that 99% he's asking if some sportsman or other is still alive

My mate has one of those Alexa jobbies, we were drinking round his and he was telling me how he hasn't worked out most of the commands yet, so I shouted "Alexa, set an alarm for 3am everyday", he had to look up how to cancel all alarms.

I wanna new digital alarm clock for Chrissie. My current one I have had.. wait for it.. since the late 70s.. (I kid you not) is now in its death throes. If only merchandise today had such a long useage.

I had an alarm clock that you were supposed to throw against a wall to stop it ringing. Guess I threw it too hard as it broke on my first throw. Ended up with some sort of multi part jigsaw.

I admire people who are good at arts and crafts. Just remember the more you paint the better you get, so don't give up. It's a great hobby.

Make vintage style teddy bears myself. It's always nice to have something to show for your efforts.
