    Re: Moments in History.

I remember the Apollo Soyuz docking quite well. It was, of course, very big news at the time. It is my understanding that it was the last Apollo flight. Don't know if it is true but I read many years ago that the Americans had to do all the docking movements and had never orbited so low, but as I said, don't know if all that is true.

      That is it exactly!

People forget that this was a legitimate Apollo flight, a vital evolutionary step to the ISS, but it wasn't given a number.

You can ask a trivia question about how many Apollo missions after XI did not lead to a moon landing and most people would say one, i.e. XIII, but there was this one as well!

              It's possible .. different times ..

I saw a report on the gangster couple Bonny and Clyde . .. they were shot in their car by hundreds if not thousands of bullets in a police ambush ... their bodies were left unguarded for a time ( no idea why ) and trophy hunters were apparently clambering about over the bodies pinching memorabilia of the bodies and stripping the cars innards . Supposedly someone cut a finger off to take a ring !

Can't recall who lost the finger though
