    Re: sandwich fillings

I wouldn't even do that - I would go to the park and feed the ducks with it.

The end bits are decent for toast but even BETTER if chopped up and dropped in some hot , sweet milk !!

Bread and milk is heavenly and HAS to be tried once in your life !!

PS the crusts just add flavour

I would only use tomato ketchup if it was done in a sandwich toaster.

For me, it's pretty much: cheese and onion, cheese and pickle (add lettuce, tomato and onion for a cheese ploughmans), cheese and mustard, tomato and basil (with, uh, mozzarella cheese, if there's any going). Basically, if a sandwich has cheese in it, it'll probably be okay for me.

There's also one delicious cheese based sandwich filling which is the king of them all, as far as I'm concerned: cheese and watercress (preferably the hot English kind). If you haven't already, give it a try. Tastes amazing.

That reminded me of a top toasted Pitta Bread filling, Hummus and Water Cress, so good!

I’ll occasionally sneak a teaspoonful log syrup or honey or treacle

Also a nice treat if you have a sore throat or simply need a sugar rush is .... get a level teaspoonful of butter and dip it into the sugar bowl !!

                        Heavenly

Fried bread is lovely BUT not the same thing as bread and dripping which is i believe the solidified fat drippings from meat....happy to be corrected
