      Re: Fish and Chips

I think that the stopped using polystyrene cartons in the 1990s because of the fact that they were harmful to the environment and gave out various gases and so on. McDonald's Big Mac and McChcken Sandwich cartons used to be like that until the Green brigade in the early 1990s got upset about them.

I also think that fish and chip shops used to stop serving meals in newspaper because of Heath and Safety as well - a member of my family got some fish and chips wrapped in local newspaper and the date of the newspaper was about five years old - the mind boggles!

Does anyone still get bones in their fish when eating their fish and chip meal? - I hope that it has been a thing of the past.

I suppose it depends what sort of fish is cooked.

We’ve only ever had that once in about 40 years .. even then it was a back street cafe in Scarborough about 20 years ago .. the clues were all there — it was empty but it was late and we were all starving

I suppose it depends where the fish comes from, and what type of fish it is.
