  • Bob Grant ( TV Actor)

This is quite an interesting interview from 1987 but also quite sad to. With Bob Grant aka Jack Harper from On The Buses.

I was watch On the Buses a few months back. Very sad to see a brilliant actor in the dumps.
25 years ago I use to have a temp worker in my team who was an actor. He got virtually no acting jobs.

When Bob Grant went missing, Ruth Madoc made a TV appeal for him to get in touch, which he did, he'd been staying in Ireland, he suffered depression and financial worries. Shame he wasn't given anymore roles to play, would've been nice to see him on our screens in more TV shows.

Did he get any further acting parts after OTB? I don't remember seeing anything with him in afterwards. No wonder he took his own life.

I would have regarded him as a Robin Askwith-type actor with that "cor blimey" factor - he would have been great in a sitcom such as Bottle Boys or something like that.

I think he had some odd parts, but seemed to suffer from depression for many years.

Not surprising considering he had some odd parts.
