    Re: Spooks Biscuits

Yeah Frank Dees was tiny, but still huge as a child...god knows how big Tescos ect look to kids these days.

Besides Spookes, I got top-deck, and smacks(i think thats the name) small button type biscuits in a bag...bacon flavour was a fave, and im sure Burtons might have made them.

For some reason, my friends and I used to stick these Spooks stickers on the gear-stick panel of our Raleigh Chopper bikes....

Enlarged, but still no sign of the makers. Tescos mentioned again though, and much more colourful packaging than I recall

I have mailed the seller to ask if there is a makers name on the back

                    Re: Spooks Biscuits

The seller got back to me and his reply very simply states

                    'adams biscuits staffordshire'

Hope you do win it as this mystery needs ending!

Edit... ohhh Adams became Elkes and then Foxes (interesting as my Dad worked at the Elkes factory boxing biscuits at one time!)

He use to bring home great big boxes of broken biscuits, but sadly I dont think spooks were among them.

                              Re: Spooks Biscuits

Those pictures of these biscuits were amazing! And if it is any help to us lot, I seem to remember the pocket sleeve for the multicouloured biscuits being black plastic, they tasted like malted milk, and I have managed to date this memory back to 1976 when Dad drove a Hillman Imp Californian (Granted the car was from the 1960s)

But I seem to remember him buying them from a paper shop on a road to our town, well in those days there where no branches of Tesco, was it Peak Freans or something?

                                Interesting.
I can only recall getting them from big stores, and my memory of the inner tray was the standard black cardboard
