None of the specialist toy shops that used to exist when I was a child are still about. There used to be a Toymaster in Wakefield where I used to get all my LEGO, but that's long since gone. I don't even know if they are still trading today. There are other toy shops here and there, but they tend to be for hobbyists and collectors.

I think Toymaster is still around, there's was one in Marple where I grew up very recently. It's on the same street as the hardware shop used in White Van Man.

That reminds me of some plasic high heeled shoes my sister had when she was 4.

I could hear her clumping around almost everwhere in the house.

Eventually they started to come apart as the plastic was fairly brittle.

I remember my local Zodiac Toys in Hatfield Town Centre. They always had the rare Star Wars figures you couldn't get anywhere else!

I remember Zodiac and Trents as the two best shops in Swindon when I had to go to town with my parents every Saturday, those sort of shops are what we are missing nowadays!

Ah, I remember Zodiac Toys! Was telling my girlfriend about it the other day: she originally comes from Wales, and doesn't remember it, but in my home town of Banbury, Oxfordshire we had a Zodiac Toys store - my parents took me there whenever I was going to be treated to something.

    Still remember the logo too!

For anybody living in Banbury, it used to be in the top of the Castle Quay shopping center, opposite where Jessops and Gamestation used to be, at the market place entrance part.

Then years later it was a Beatties store, which then moved over next to where McDonald's in town is.

    Warm memories...

I remember Zodiac Toys too - the Nottingham branch was in the Broad Marsh Centre. I think that it is now a stationery or a clothes shop.
