  • Lucky Trolls

Lucky Trolls were suposedly cute, yet actually rather ugly little beasties. They were small tan figures with multi coloured, sticky-uppy hair. They came in many shapes and sizes and you could get teeny ones, medium ones and jumbo ones! They came in many different characters... young, old, boy, girl etc. Kids used to collect them, I remember my young cousins going mad-bonkers over them. Always reminded me a little of the Gonks from the 70's. Now... does anyone remember THEM?!Lucky Trolls were also known as 'Good Luck Trolls. The original Troll was created by Danish fisherman and woodcutter, Thomas Dam, who carved the ugly but cheeky doll as a gift for his daughter's birthday. Legend had it that that anyone who caught a trol in the Nordic forests would get good luck for life. Soon, a Danish toy store spotted Dam's daughter's toy and started selling versions of the troll all over the world.
