    Re: Scariest movies

Also the movie "The Stuff" really freaked me out when I was a kid. Basically it was about people eating some new food called "the stuff" and then it ate its way out of them. I couldn't eat yogurt for the longest time after that. LOL

It was the Exorsist for me way back when it first came out. Couldn't sleep for weeks after. Lately it was Dog Soldiers was fighting werewolves in my sleep for days!!! Not to keen on the gore fest ones prefer horror with a physcological(spelling?) element

Films you sneeked into underage maybe worth another thread but mine were probably to see ladies in a state of undress!!!!

                    Re: Scariest movies

May have posted this before but first underage film was "Every home should have one" with Marty Feldman and Julie Edge, I believe, in various stages of undress. The sand gets every where scene still makes me smile!
When Mrs P and I were courting(how quaint) the local flea pit used to run 2 films on a Friday nite one horror one soft porn, saw some howlers like Blackula Rises from the Dead!!!!

Ah the days when £1 used to pay for your bus fare, two into the cinema and a chippy on the way home

                          Re: Scariest movies

I get way more freaked out by real-life scary stuff, like documentaries, because I know that those things really happened. Horror films don't scare me at all, the only one that ever came close to making me jittery was The Omen.

The thing that scared me the most was Threads LOL - because I could imagine it happening and the absolute living hell that it would result in!!

Re: Children of the Corn, I remember watching it with my boyfriend at about 2am, and he drove home afterwards and stalled his car right outside a huge corn field in the middle of nowhere - he was terrified LOL!!

The one's that really got to me were The Thing & Manitou, which I saw when i was about 13 or 14. Saw the Zombie films when i was about 10 or 11 and loved them.

Also bug fan of most of Wes Craven's stuff.

                              Re: Scariest movies

Remeber being scared when younger watching 2 films that stuck in my mind, Crowhaven farm and Dont go to sleep - bought them both last year and still think they are excellent but my God they freaked me out when i was younger - i used to be scared to look under the bed incase someone was there. Also Amyitiville 2 - the one where the brother kills his family - that scared me too.

I think nowadays the films that gets me are the Grudge & the Grudge 2. Just the noise that woman makes when she appears is scary for me.

                                Re: Scariest movies

Those Amicus movies from the 70s' were quite chilling. The Crate story from Creepshow still scares me even now...

Films these days rely on cheap slasher scares to make you jump. Usually they're so obvious you see em' coming...
