  • What were these patterns called?

Sometime in the early 80's, I used to be given art pads that had elaborate patterns ready to be filled in by felt tip pen. They weren't pictures of particular objects, just symmetrical patterns I think very faintly lined with grey ink so they wouldn't spoil the finished colouring in. Me and my friends would spend hours with these books and I wonder if they're still around now and what they are called.

    Does anyone know?

My daughter loves these I personally never had the patience if they are the same thing? They are called Islamic Patterns, though we simply called them pattern design books.

The name depended on what colouring book you bought. There were several on the market, with different names. I had loads of them. You can still buy them in Morrisons actually.
