I one episode of the 1st series Oz wore some smart clothes for a night out only to get them covered in paint.

That was his blue suit (in the episode The Fugitive).
The only thing to look forward to is the past

Because she, Hazel, had become a lesbian.

Hazel had become a lesbian. I don't remember that.

                        It's mentioned in series 3.

                          "We should've took the train."
"You'll be grateful of this when we get there, we can see a bit of Germany in this!"
"I've always wanted to push a clapped-out Zephyr round the Bavarian Alps!"

A classic series, I've always liked it. I was going to mention about the building site scenes in Series 1 being filmed in Elstree on what is now the Eastenders set - but someone else beat me to it. A now-classic Sealink ferry adorned the opening titles of the first episode as Dennis, Neville and Oz crossed the channel on their way to Dusseldorf. Joe Fagin sung the opening and closing themes to the first two series. Mark Knopfler sang the closing theme ('Wye Aye Man') to the third series.

                          "Danke schon!"
"Aye, and Donkey Sh*te to you too!"
"We're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!"
