of course!! They were like a 'lesser' version of a Doc Mart boot....I had a red/brown pair mid 70's....then moved up to Doc Marts 1977

I had a pair in the 80/90's, got them from Millets, they were great.

I thought I had, until I saw your pics. If Monkey Boots were 'not quite' Doc Martens, then I was obviously one grade lower. I must have had 'not quite' Monkey Boots. Hehe. Another pound or two saved by my parents again, then!

The ones I remember had metal hooks that the laces were woven around instead of eyelets. I was more of a clarks commandos kid myself.

spooky again branny...was just going to mention I had a pair like that too....not metal eye-holes. They were like U-shaped metal lugs which you simply wound the lace around

I had a pair of these in the late 70s as motorcycle boots for my scooter. They were great!

My mum would make me alternate between Monkee boots and high-top Converse All-Stars. Those two pairs would last forever!

                      I remember Monkey boots,
they came in black or brown, they had a zipper up the back and a seam in front running from the top of the boot to the pointed toe. high heels, ( by most mens standards) suede, sold by Thom Mcann shoes. I never did see the difference though between Monkee boots and Beatle boots.
