70's TV series set in the Tropics. Hydroplane

Hello

Do you remember a TV series from the 70's-early 80's, set in the Tropical area, probably the north of Australia or caribean?

In this series the main characters - father, son and a pet (dog or other) were always using their hydroplane

Each episode adventure made use of the hydroplane capabilities

I've put every conceivable variation of wording into Google and come up with nothing. Which is totally frustrating, as this show sounds VERY familiar!

Be interested to see if deepwaters recognises this as his memory. I don't think it's what I was thinking of. The young son had a major part in the show in my own mind and the thing had more of a 'Skippy' feel to it. But of course, at my advanced years, my mind is getting quite addled
