Have you read one? They're excreable!

Have a look on eBay, they might be a decent 'find'.

      Re: Commando magazines

I loved these as a kid. I had quite a pile, myself.

I sold mine on ebay a few years ago. Didn't get hardly anthing for them, but it made me happy they were heading for a collector's collection, rather than the bin.

But I read them over and over as a kid in the late 70s. Especially when I was off school sick....I can smell the beef soup now!!!

They are still going strong today, 47 years later! Low number issues can fetch good money, in right condition (do an advanced search on ebay....completed listings only)

It is quite possible that quoting the Far East ones will get me banned.

              I loved those mags.

What about Battler Britton - what comic was he in?

The Aussie bloke on playschool that always used to play the guitar did a song about cars and dugger dugger dug was the sound of the petrol pump. Sorry you'll have to find another sound effect. . Pretend he's got a lugar and use "Peee-oun"

                    Re: Commando magazines

Not Commando, but there is a Best of Battle magazine out at the moment in Smiths. Had a quick look (£3.99 isn't great value given that there is a big book of strips coming out for £7 from Amazon for 288 pages of it.

In its favour, it does reproduce the inside front page of the first issue, telling you that you could win, amongst other things, a radio. And not just any radio...

                    A TRANSISTOR radio.

As for quoting the far east ones, isn't the Two Ronnies sketch banned? The one talking about something in the air?

                    I really must get started...
