    Re: Fizzing submarine

These are available to this day in some American toy stores.
Their light of pocket torch, of signal flare,
Licks at the edge of unsuspected places,
While others scan, under an arc-lamp's glare,
Nursery, kitchen sink, or their own faces.

Wow!.Forgot about these subs until I came across this thread.I had a grey coloured one.Assuming it must of been either a freeby from a cerial packet offer or from a promotion through a comic at the time. Can also remember the little divers.Have a feeling when I ran out of the tablets I started to fill it with baking powder or the likes of.

I seem to remember one that came with these blue and white capsules.

I remember the plastic diver, it had a hole in the back which held a bubble when immersed in water. The diver was then placed in a bottle full of water. the cap was screwed on and when tightened, the diver would descend & when untightened, rise up. The trick was to find the position where the diver would remain stationary. simple pleasures.

I just noticed - the big sub in the $1 pack is exactly the same sub as the one for $3.99. Rip off!
