    Re: Bands from Australia

It passed over my head when it was first out, but I certainly noticed when my Dad got a CD of One Hit Wonders.

                  My faves are:

Mondo Rock!!! Daddy Cool!!! (both featuring the legendary Ross Wilson)

Also Pseudo Echo (Funkytown, Listening) and Wa Wa Nee (Stimulation, Sugar Free). They supported Go West on their tour down under in May 2008 and they were fab.....as of course were Go West!

The Divinyls weren't a one-hit wonder.....along with their song 'I Touch Myself' they also had hits with 'Boys In Town' , 'Science Fiction', 'Pleasure and Pain' and 'Only Lonely'...and as far as I know they're still around.

I know the divinyls are Aussie legends, but that seems to be their only UK hit

I loved the Go-Betweens too, in particular "16 Lovers Lane", although I have most of their albums. I really liked Grant McLennan's solo stuff too-I still play his "Fireboy" CD a lot.

There was a great rock band called Kings Of The Sun, I saw them when they supported Kiss in 1988.
