Help me identify this program

Back in the mid-late 90's I remember a program that was shown on Channel 4 (I think) it was about two kids (may have been foster kids) one was black with dread0locks the other was white, the black kid had a strange name (or was referred to by his nick-name), and there was a girl who I think was the white kids girlfriend who was played by someone who (in my minds eye looks a littel like Myleene Klass). The title of the show was the name of the two principal characters(I think)

Please does anyone know what I'm talking about, and if so, what's it called. It's driving me crazy!!
