  • Your Fav Films of 70's 80's 90's

The word "Movies" never sits right with me LOL
but as most films come from the USA - Movies it is! (I know most films come from India but you know what I mean)

One fav film from each decade please:

    1970's Life of Brian

    1980's Raging Bull

    1990's Shawshank Redemption

1970s - The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
1980s - Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
        1990s - Ringu (Ring)

Hmmm... for the 70s I found it tough to narrow it down to one out of dozens, while for the 90s I found it tough to think of even one. I'm sure I've enjoyed other movies from that decade, but none are springing to mind.

I can't think of anything decent from the 90's either.

            70s - Quadrophenia.

80s - Breaking Glass & The Blues Brothers.

I sometimes like to kick around amongst the old threads to see if there are any I can contribute to....

1970s: 'Vanishing Point' (1971) - Features my favourite classic muscle car - the Dodge Challenger R/T.
                1980s: 'Gregory's Girl' (1981) - Classic!
1990s: 'Gregory's 2 Girls' (1999) - Not as good as the original, but still good nonetheless.

                  1980's: The Breakfast Club

                  1990's: The Shawshank Redemption

I'd have to agree with Herr, it's 'Star Wars' for the 70s.

For the 80s, 'Fame' made a big impression on me.

I am still trying to think of one for the 90s. I don't really watch films - which is a bit of a handicap! lol

OK, 1990s: I've just remembered 'The Indian in the Cupboard'. Lovely film.

Gregory's Girl I would normally consider just another yoof film, but for that one line near the end:

"Why are boys so obsessed with numbers?"

I can never remember when films were made, and I can't be bothered to look them up, but generally I like comedies and horror: The Exorcist, The Life of Brian, Educating Rita, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Others, Clockwise.

Hopefully that covers all three decades.
The present is a foreign country. They do things differently here.

I can tell you that 'Clockwise' was 1986. It's another of my personal favourites.
