I think it was in the 1980's, maybe late 70's.
Its a film, involving a little girl, monsters (not scary ones, these were nice monsters), bubbling mud pools and a bad witch who lives in a cave and does keep fit/aerobics in her cave!.
It was a Christmas film, shown on TV, but it wasn't actually about Xmas.
I remember at the end, the girl wakes up and goes into her lounge where there is a christmas tree. She thinks it has been in a dream but out of her window, she sees one of the furry monsters walking away from her house.
Please help. I am beginning to wonder if I dreamt the whole thing up! It has been doing my head in for years. (p.s. my sister does remember it too though!)
