  • Hexagon 'sort-of-jigsaw'

A recent post about a game involving a hexagon shaped board reminded me of something. I've decided to put it in the 'toys' section as it was most certainly not a board game. It was a series of hexagonal pieces a couple of inches across. You placed them together and at the joins, they would produce flower shapes, or pointy-petal designs of different colours and sizes. Any ideas?

        I can't be sure.

I would say 70s. The background to the flower patterns was black, ...if that helps. The colours of the petals were dominantly yellow and blue.

My brother had a game called Fusion by Ideal where all the pieces were made of 5 hexagons arranged differently. There were supposed to be thousands of ways to put them into a frame but I only managed it once.

I've found mention of a polydron hexagon constuction set, but the only one I can find is Copyright Polydron 1991, I wonder if there were earlier sets made??

Hi huggie. Thanks for this but if what you heard about described it as a construction set, it's probably not the one I'm thinking of. The shapes I recall were just placed on the table, up against each other, to make the pattern.

Yes huggie! That's definitely the one. Thank you for searching this one out.
