I think I'd choose A Muppet Christmas Carol.

couldn't decide between Wizard of Oz or Scrooge with Patrick Stewart, saw the Polar Express for the first time last boxing day and got strangely dragged into it.

id go for scrooge, gremlins. and home alone.

id also go with the original willy wonka and the chocolate factory with gene wilder a really good film indeed.

Interestingly enough, The Odessa File. This song, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, was featured in the film.

                      Re: Favourite christmas movie

I've had 2 weeks off over christmas so me and my 4 year old have sat through many a christmas movie, some for the first time (Elf, Jack Frost, Fred Claus). Home alone, Gremlins, Jingle all the way and A Christmas story have all had an airing as well. I've still got some to watch. Not yet seen Holiday Inn or Scrooged but have to say my favourite so far has been Disney's A Christmas Carol. Animation is similar to that of Polar express and I loved it.

what has been your 4 year old daughters faves mate.

you say u have seen many of these for the first time.
is that because u normally are not off over christmas for so long.

Not really a christmas program but I remember it being on over a christmas period back in the 70's.The talking parcel. It was an animated film.Apart from that the only other films that says christmas to me is scrooge and The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe.Love those magical childrens films.

She loved Home alone 1 and 2 and I ended up having to buy her Elf after she saw it on tv. Most of the ones i've seen first time are aimed at children like Jack Frost, Elf, Disney's A Christmas carol. I probably wouldn't have watched them had we not had a little un. I tend to go for the more adult themed films like National lampoons xmas vacation and Christmas with the Kranks. Still got some to watch before the holiday season is over. Not seen Scrooged all the way through yet. Got woke up at 8.30 on xmas morn by my 13 year old nephew so started watchin it until everyone arose. I'll also watch Holiday Inn, Muppet xmas carol and first plays for It's a wonderful life and Polar express on blu-ray.
