I can recall an '80s(I think) documentary based around a team of engineers desinging and building a cheap,rugged car that could be built,used and easily maintained in Africa.
I seem to recall the vehicle was based on the running gear of a 2CV !
Howvever nobody else that I speak to can recall this at all?!..
Have I just made it up in my head...
