  • Football game

I had a football game given to me in 1975 -

It consisted of a green plastic "pitch". All the players were on springs attached to the pitch and were positioned in a slight depression around them that allowed the ball to settle at their "feet". You moved the ball around by holding the players back and letting them go! (quite effective!)

I always thought the game was a european import as it had German and I think Italian etc on the box

    Anyone rememeber this?

Sounds like Chad Valley Soccer Stadium

although this version seems to have switches to move the players, there was spring loaded player version. Will look for a pic

        Re: Football game

That design of football game dates way back to the 1950's
This is a more recent european knock-off in similar style

I remember at school we had a similar game, though the players were free standing. The wasn't a full set of them due to breakages as they were on the fragile side.

Different football game, but I had a Subbuteo goalkeeper who had to be retired injured with two badly broken ankles: he was replaced with a transfer from the Airfix paratroopers.

Some of the Subbuteo players my brother had broke & had to be stuck into their bases with plasticene because were wern't allowed to use superglue.

                Re: Football game

My husband's little brother had this exact same game in the 70s, I remember playing it with him, but I can't think of the name and I've searched on google to no avail.
                I hope someone knows it.

Well bugger me.. I looked at nearly every link on that site (and the pictures in my previous post are from there), but the one I did not click on was that one.

                        Hi all -

I really appreciate all the hard work you have put in looking for this - and this is so similar but its not the one - but its nice to see a "nearly" version rather than none at all!

The game I had was much longer and wider and only red and blue players (no shorts/tops/socks/boots - just plain old plastic!

I had the cheapo version lmao!
