    Default singing books at school

does anyone remember those colourful singing books you got in Primary class and everyone had to sing along including the teacher??

I remember a couple of songs, one was about a russian called Boris??
could be way out with that one but i still remember it

the other I have kinda tracked down

    most memorable lyrical verse

Old Joe Clark, he had a house; fifteen stories high
Every story in that house was filled with chicken pie!

I remember one series of songbooks with orange covers with a yellow circle.

I can remember others where the words were transcribed onto OHP sheets & only the teacher playing the piano had the actual book.

One such book had a title based on one of the songs, something on the lines of "A Pusky Dusky A Pusky Doo", it was about sardines.

I can't remember the name of one songbook my old school used to have but it had a tape with songs,
one was called 'catch me the colours of the rainbow' (I can still remember it) and one was 'wham bang fizz whizz', we sang the latter on Guy Fawkes' Day.

Everybody must remember this song, sung every Halloween:

    ~ HALLOWEEN ~
    By Harry Behn

    Tonight is the night
    When dead leaves fly
    Like witches on switches
    Across the sky,
    When elf and sprite
    Flit through the night
    On a moony sheen.

    Tonight is the night
    When leaves make a sound
Like a gnome in his home
    Under the ground,
    When spooks and trolls
    Creep out of holes
    Mossy and green.

    Tonight is the night
    When pumpkins stare
    Through sheaves and leaves
    Everywhere,
    When ghouls and ghost
    And goblin host
    Dance round their queen.
    It's Halloween.

I do recall, the last line of each verse, was sang twice.

You're welcome! Can't promise I can produce the one you particularly want to see but will take photo's of the ones I have. Any idea what year are we talking? I think mine are very early ones. I'll go and dig them out now & get clicking. Hopefully I'll be able to get the pics on here later :-)
