Furthermore, when cakes go stale, they harden and when biscuits go stale they soften. Jaffa Cakes go hard when they are stale so its a cake. Also, a Jaffa Cake has 'Cake' in its title so its a cake... Anyway back to the point, I don't recall a commercial for Jaffa Cakes.

    Correct cakes are tax free

Jaffa Cakes used to have cartoon adverts in the 1980s with a Goblin-type character in them. They also advertised just a few years ago with adverts such as the teacher "full moon, half moon, total eclipse" one - they had Chris Eubank (or some impersonating him) as a voiceover at the end of the advert.

As cakes are made similar to bread, I suppose that is why they harden or go stale, while biscuits actually go soft instead - wouldn't it be almost a perfect world if it happened the other way round?

But then again, pancakes are not "cakes" are they?

They did a couple of variations of that advert - Ted Rogers also appeared in one.

And of course, when the Spice Girls did their 12345 song for the start of Channel 5 in March 1997, you can tell what it reminded me of...
