    Re: Teachers nicknames

In my primary school, there was a man teacher there called Mr Hilditch, he got called the Hippy, because he had a very laid back and fun attitude, he didn't particularly look like one.

In secondary school there was a science teacher called Mr Matthews. He was a total perv, really. His nickname was Reg Holdsworth, (as in Coronation Street) because he had the same style of glasses and he did look a bit like him, the only difference was their hairstyles. He really was a pervo though, he used to stand in the front of the classroom, in full view of everyone, and rub his private parts, he actually picked up his 'region' and set it on the bench once. Creepy.

There was also a PE/Maths teacher called Mr Nelson. He got called Sticky because of his moustache, it looked like it was stuck to his face and it was very straight under his nose.

There was a Scottish woman history teacher, whose name I can not remember now but who I can picture very clearly, and she got called The Floating Wig. She was very short and every time she was walking along the corridor, if we saw her from outside in the school grounds, all you saw was her hair bobbing up and down as she walked.

Then there was Mr Fryers who was a technology teacher, he got called Smelly Breath, for the obvious reasons. Mrs Sayliss the principal who used to get called Sally Sailboat.

I can remember a teacher we called 'Mr Wobbly Lump', as he had an enormous Adams Apple.

I hardly learned a thing in his class, as watching his Adams Apple going up and down it stopped me listening most of the time to what he was saying.

I am laughing away here now at the memory but then it really looked scary.

I think that I would have been the same. In the science class, there were sinks with taps with thin nozzle like attachments on the end of the tap where the water came from. It was a bit loose and when you turned the water on, turned it off again, the water used to gather in the nozzle. If you tapped it gently, the water fell out and it made the nozzle wobble back and forth in a very funny way and I used to almost wet myself laughing whenever I watched it do that. I can still picture it in my mind to this day.

Yes, I so know what you mean, so well I remember that, and also trying to wriggle the plastic nozzle off the tap at home, only to finally do it while getting a face full of water when it pinged off the tap..

In middle school I had a math teacher named Mr Heald. We used to call him as Hildo the... (rhymes with a certain type of "marital aid"). And in high school there was a rather effeminate looking teacher named Mr Thomas whom we called "The Poodle." I had him for Civics class in my senior year and he was actually a pretty cool guy -- he was also a lawyer and on our last day of class he handed out his business card just in case we needed it.

A music teacher was nicknamed Pick A Flick due to flicking a pupil's ear if they misbehaved! Another was called Dartboard due to the various pock holes on his face. The Headmaster of my secondary school was called Batman though I can't for the life of me remember why..........perhaps he had a cape?

Mr George was Giraffe Man because of his long neck

Mrs Birch was ... well, I'm sure you can guess what the kids less fond of her called her

Mr Waterfall (sadly his real name) was Mr Niagara for obvious reasons

Dr Morrison was Moomin because of her resemblance to a certain race of fictional characters
