  • Fish & chip crisps

Who remembers these? They were little cracker type snacks in the shape of fish and chips and had a thick coating of flavour which I loved! You could also get chicken and chips but I didn't think they were as nice.

Can you still get them anywhere?

I remember some people at school having these, the bags were designed to look like newspaper.

I knew someone who had a Sweet warehouse by Junction 10 M6 and he used to have pallet loads of these all the time, he also sold the Burger and chips and Chicken and chips too, i've not seen them anywhere whatsoever though since 1996.
They changed the bags about 1990 and they just came in a plain red pack not newspaper wrapping, Chicken was a orange pack and Burger brown.
He also sold something similar also made by Burtons called Smax they were in similar bags but miles nicer.

Didn't the faux newsprint on the packet have French or Latin words on them? - I know that they weren't in English. Also, was it only corner shops that sold them and not mainstream supermarkets?
