Used to love reading as a kid,

heres some i can still remember reading, i cant beleive how little i remember when my bookshelves were heaving as kid.

i had the full set of first edition Hodder and Stoughton hardback famous five (alas all given away)
    the wombles
Plop, the owl who was afraid of the dark
Mrs Frisbee and the rats from NIMH
    stig of the dump
Elidor, The song of findhorn (properly eerie)
    William the bad
The ghosts of motley hall (one of a series, cant remember the title)
All of Roald Dahls wonderful childrens books
    The iron man
    Joby
    The machine gunners
(Molesworth books), down with skool, whizz for atoms and back in the jug again.
Spike milligans silly verse for kids.

wish i were a kid again!

I remember Mrs Frisby and the rats from NIMH, I still have the book, and my little girl has read it too. I must have read it 100's of times. Most of the books I read were Enid Blyton or Roald Dahl's (sorry about the correction)

we had our loft insulated a couple of weeks back, and a load of old books are piled around the house at the moment.I will have to look through them and post what i have discovered.I think a load got thrown out, which is a shame.

Re: some of my remembered books

Ahh, I loved books when I was little. Had a trip down memory lane recently and remembered some favourites:

                The Famous Five series
Little Grey Rabbit (including a model house with furniture and characters made from card, one of which is currently selling on amazon for $200! Ah well, what price memories, eh?)
                Mrs Pepperpot
Roald Dahl's Danny the Champion of the World
                Brer Rabbit
                Watership Down
                The Faraway Tree
                Mr Pinkwhistle stories
King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table
Ladybird books, particularly the 'well-loved tales' eg Cinderella
'Kennelmaid Nan' and 'Maid of the Abbey' - both passed on by my Mum.
And of course, as many annuals as I could lay hands on. Happy days.
