  • Rough Riders - You Can Try To Stop Em!!!

Just had a flashback to toys from my childhood and these had to be one of my favourites. They took a battery and had a small switch on the underside - WICKED!!!

I seem to remember having one that looked a normal american 4x4, but it could be the old grey matter playing tricks.

As the associated you tube videos confirm, I remembered the "Stompers" more.
Do we know which came first, and which was "jumping on the bandwagon"?

I need to get hold of two or three *battered* versions of such, for Dr Frankenstein purposes. I promise not to operate on valuable vintage nostalgia.

Hi Emettman, from the info I can find it looks like stompers were out first (1980) whereas Rough Riders first seem to appear in 1981. Found a couple of things you might like to take a look at,

              Thank you!
Found this really impressive accessory for the Stompers...

Now that would have been a fun toy, testing the different versions to their limit.

Also this A-Team Rough Riders set on eBay...

But no basic battered ones, at present (they make excellent tiny diesel locos for G-scale display railways.)
