  • What were all the bits in operation?

I had operation, but I can't remember all the bones.

funny bone, picnic basket, pencil, butterfly (?) wishbone(?) it's all hazy...what was in the complete set?

It's these sort of things that keep me awake at night lol

Adams apple, charlie horse, spare rib, water on the knee, butterflies in the tummy, breadbasket, wishbone, pencil (writers cramp?), funnybone, broken heart, wrenched ankle, anklebone connected to the kneebone. I think that was it for the original (70's) version. Haven't seen any modern ones so don't know if any additions have been made.

nice one! Remember most of them now but no memory at all of the horse, water on the knee, wrenched ankle....hold on maybe, was that a spanner? And the anklebone connected to knee bone. And it was a bread basket not a picnic basket. Well, I can go to sleep now.

        water on knee=pail/bucket
ankle bone/ knee = rubber band
and yes ankle was a spanner

The charlie horse was one of the most difficult to remove. Not much room to spare with the metal contact but for some reason the rest of its cavity was like a cavern so it moved about.

I remember them all now, but charlie horse? What ailment was that meant to represent? And a bread basket for that matter. Who came up with these weird things?

I thought the bits were a Candlestick, Rope, Lead Piping, Dagger, Revolver and Hand Grenade.

(Don't write in, I'm only joking, I know these are from Cluedo, except the last one, which should have been!)

I remember getting Operation from a jumble sale, getting it home and opening it up, only to find there were no bloomin' bits in it!! I almost asked for my 50p back, lol
