Children's BBC drama - late 1980s - early 1990s.

I remember seeing a drama between about 1988 & 1992, which I am sure was made by the BBC.

I can't remember the title, but I remember a scene where a middle aged man get frustrated by a chess puzzle & climbs on the roof of a big house, & starts to rip up the tiles & hurling them to the ground.

A younger man has to talk him down & does so.

Not a drama, but I think there's an episode of The Brittas Empire where a middle-aged man climbs up on the roof in protest at Gordon Brittas.

I liked The Brittas Empire for the first few series, but it was one show that ran for just a bit too long.
