My first car of my own, not 'the family car', was a Peugeot 504. It was huge and the head gasket went on it. It was white and I called her Peggy. My next car was a Ford Escort,(mk 2) the old shape. It was a muddy beige and I called her Esmerelda Rustbucket.
I think I learnt to drive in an Escort.
The people of Oman don't like the Flintstones but the people of Abu Dhabi do!
The first car that i ever learnt in was one of these,,,
The Toyota Starlet
A horrible car to drive and even worse to take your test in. It had less room in it than a crisp packet. Needless to say i failed my first test...
I then changed driving schools and had the pleasure of this fine machine...
The wonderful Datsun Cherry....
What a machine

I learned with BSM in a brand new Austin Metro. It seemed space-age to me then. Practiced in my auntie's old mini...which didn't!
the car i learned to drive in was a toyota corolla, but my dad started to teach me how to drive in a mk1 transit mini bus.
I learned to drive in 1990. My dad started teaching me to at 16 (a month or two before my 17th birthday), in his car which was a Ford Sierra. One sunday morning he said, lets go for a drive, not telling where we were going - on the way, he stopped at a filling station and bought a set of L-Plates, and then we headed over to Team Valley (for those who know the area).
For my 17th Birthday, I got my first car... a 1982 Ford Fiesta 950 popular, which I continued learning in, with accompanying drivers.
In November 1990, I took an intensive driving course, which was one week of daily lessons, with the driving test on the Friday - I passed first time!
Can't believe I've been driving for almost 21 years now!!
My grandfather's 1979 Toyota Carina, which we still have- I passed my test in it too, and my sister learnt to drive in it as well.
My Aunties Fiat Uno in the morrisons car park in blackpool. What a great little car.
My first car I owned - a 1983 (A Reg) Austin Maestro - in deep red. Shockingly bad car, the door could be opened with only 1/3 of the key in it, it only had 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears then it was "E" for economy instead of 4th.
Blew it up driving too fast down blackpool promenade - black smoke out the exhaust and would never go over 45mph again. (not that it went much over that anyway)
