Do you remember this 80's/90's TV drama?

Help...It's driving me mad. I remember loving a mini-series either late 80's or early 90's about a mother-in-law played by a famous actress who I also can't remember. Her daughter had died and she was trying to finish off her son-in-law so she could have her grandchildren. She ended up trying to kill him by getting the children to bake biscuits and she put poison in the icing which think was the seeds from a Laburnam tree, and they fed it to their father. I hope this rings a bell for someone because it's driving me crazy.....
