  • Re: Trainer Trends

HI JASON I wasnt able to tie my laces till i was 16 so trainers with those velcro fasteners where just the ticket for me.

    I had tons of them.

    VERY COMFORTABLE TOO.

      Ah, such a late bloomer.

Here's another pair I had. The front of the shoe has that mesh-type fabric that let in rain and water when you ran through a puddle and soaked your feet.

remember having a pair of Troop black & white basketball trainers in the late 80's loved them, also had a pair of Acapuncture (grey) trainers in the late 90's (best trainers I ever had, except for all my converse).

I had a pair like these with the velcro fasteners.

I recall Trainers of a similar style used to be very popular through Catalouge/Mail Order Companies in the early 1990s ... it is amazing how memories are instantly brought back I think by seeing just certain photos/and certain designs of clothing etc

I am similar Darren - I could never lace Trainers until being in my mid to late Teens and am no better now (if nothing else UI am worse possibly in-fact)

Ellesse used to be a great brand I recall ... even rivalling Puma/Rebook etc for a bit!! Though I like these I think that the lettering for their name is a bit over the top/too big sadly!

Ellesse is one brand I had forgotten in, there seemed to be period in the late 1980s - early 1990s when French & Italian sportswear seemed to be very popular.

Would have been a bit earlier than that, the "Casual" scene favoured those brands too.
