Around 1980 we had to take our car back to the place we bought it from for something or other and they loaned us a 1974 1600 Capri automatic. It's the only time I ever managed to drive a Capri but I really liked it. The thing was so cool

I remember people saying about the Ford Capri in the early 1980s, some seemed to like it others didn't think much of it. Only once did I drive one, around the block! Don't know if I was insured !!!!!. One man I used to work with, had one. I always remember him saying, "Not a bad car, but too much b****y bonnet." The Ford Capri was first introduced in 1969.

I agree that it did have a long bonnet given the overall size of the car. I remember when driving it that I seemed to be further back when stopped at junctions, but I suppose regular drivers would get used to that.
