Just finished watching the first season of WATCHING with Emma Wray and Paul Bown. I bought the boxset last year and thought it was superb. Watching it again its amazing how funny this still is, Emma Wray's one liners and put downs to her useless other half are razor sharp. One of the most under rated comedies.

Why cant UK Gold give us repeats of this or many other excellent comedies instead of constant reruns of Only Fools, Vicar of Dibley Dads Army Porridge etc. Dont get me wrong these programmes were funny but having seen them for about the 20th time, they have lost their magic

    Re: Watching

Don't UK Gold only show BBC sitcoms and dramas? 'Watching' was made by Granada for ITV so they wouldn't show it, but I agree with you and I used to like 'Watching' as well. A lot of those ITV sitcoms from around that era (late '80s/early '90s) are underrated - there was also 'That's Love' and 'The Two Of Us'.

      Re: Watching

UK Gold did used to show a few Thames shows, along with some American ones.

      It's interesting that ITV 3 & 4 haven't picked up on them.

I loved Watching. It was first on in a late night slot on a Sunday in the Tyne Tees area. I have them all on DVD. They are still great to watch even now.
