The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin was an animated television series based on Teddy Ruxpin that came out in 1986 and ran for 65 episodes.Teddy Ruxpin the toy came first of course, and was an electronic toy from the 1980's. Fascinating to my infantile mind (still is) and a little bit scary.The cartoon follows the young Teddy Ruxpin as he leaves his home on the island of Rillonia with his best friend Grubby to follow an ancient map. They discover magical powers and treasure as well as some people who want to use it for evil.

Hmm...this is a weird one for me. I never watched this simply because the name put me off. Teddy Ruxpin. What a mouthful. I can't explain why but it still makes me go cringy. And he looks a bit like a care bear - all a bit too soft and nice and righteous-looking for me. I must admit I never came across the doll at all, but perhaps I should have given the fella a chance telly wise.

I've just listened to the theme tune, now that put me right off too.
