Hi all,
I had this book as a young child in the mid-70's and would now love a copy to read to daughter, but need title, author, help, pls!
It was a short, simple book with lovely illustrations aimed at young children about some children that visit a local playground. There was an old wooden horse, very tatty that the children decide to clean, paint etc. They do a good job and a little girl takes off her hat and puts it on the wooden horse. They leave, but when they return a while later, the horse is gone, but in an adjoining field is a real horse, wearing the hat. Lovely book, and it's driving me insane trying to remember the title. Could possibly have been printed earlier than 70's but that's when I read it. Pls, if anyone has any ideas would be so grateful. Many thanks.
