Re: 1980s PICKWICK TELL A TALE LADYBIRD HORROR CLASSICS: DRACULA
Hi all, first time poster. I'm sure the answer to this will be no, but I'm desperately trying to find a resource for mp3 versions of the children's classics on tape from the 80s. I had most as a child but they're long gone nowI'd love to get a hold of them all but specifically Around the world in 80 days, Tom Sawyer, the Railway Children and Tales from the Jungle book. I remember both Around the world and Tom Sawyer had Dvorak's New world Symphony accompanying the audio and the Railway Children had Beethoven's 6th, those books introduced me to the classics and to classical music. I'd happily buy the tapes or pay for Mp3s etc, if anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks all,
Mike

If anyone can pass on a link to download these I would be very grateful. My kids love reading the ladybook books, but having the audio books as well would just be amazing.
Please see PM I sent you...I think you'll be pleased!

Hi Breck,
Glad you found the link. In response to your original thread reply, yes I now have Dracula but thanks for the offer. Hope you and your son enjoy continue to enjoy the recordings. They should definitely be re-issued again. Mind you, I got them from Woolworths. Perhaps they should 're-issue' Woolworths as well! lol

I have Dracula, Frankenstein and The Hound of The Baskervilles on tape and have converted them all to MP3 if anyone's interested. I'd love to get MP3 versions of any that I don't have, and not only the horror releases as Journey to the Centre of the Earth etc sound fantastic! I've also got The Last of the Mohicans and Kidnapped if anyone's interested.

I am also going to preserve a non-Pickwick horror cassette with Dracula's Guest and The Haunted Dolls House on it - read by the same guy who did the Pickwick Horrors, and is definitely within the same vein.

It's great to know that you guys remember these tapes. I have converted mine to mp3s and play them to my kids from my phone!
