I can vaguely remember a story in a comic dating back to the middle-to-late 70s. Can't remember the comic or the story name but what I can remember is this:
It was a futuristic war fought between two sides. Both sides were made up of children/teenagers. Being futuristic there was ray guns and when someone was hit by one they disappeared. I can't remember how long the story ran for but I do remember that at the climax it was revealed that no-one had died during the war. Anyone who was hit by a ray and disappeared was actually transported to a sort of holding cell.
If someone has any idea what the story/comic might be or where I can continue my search it would be greatly appreciated.
Michael
